This week at Irmie, together with our Spanish customers, we successfully completed the FAT of a 1,5MW static converter, consisting of two containers – one 20 feet and one 45 feet.
These containers act as power converters for adapting between different voltages and current types, with the following features:
Input: 3 kV DC
Conversion:
– regulation of input DC voltage through Chopper
– conversion from DC to AC through Inverter
– voltage step-up through Transformer
Output: 25 kV AC 50Hz
They are equipped with ventilation, cooling, and SCADA control systems, making them ideal tools for locomotive testing.
